Contract Administration

Ewing Somerville Partnershp have a wide variety of experience in carrying out the role of  Contract Administrator or Employers Agent. Both these roles are fundamental to the project running successfully and achieving completion on time and within budget. Services provided include:

  • Management of the contract
  • Chairing meetings and providing reports
  • Issuing certificates for payment
  • Assess and manage change orders
  • Monitoring the programme
  • Assessment of extensions of time / Loss and expense
  • Defects liability and maintenance period

CDM Co-ordinator

Ewing Somerville Partnership are able to undertake the role of CDM Co-ordinator. We offer practical advice and assistance to our clients enabling them to comply with their statutory duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.  The following are the services provided when we are appointed as CDM Co-ordinators:

  • Advise the client if the project is notifiable
  • Advise and assist the client with their duties
  • Notify details of the project to HSE
  • Co-ordinate health and safety aspects of design work and co-operate with others involved with the project
  • Facilitate good communication between the client, designers and contractors
  • Liaise with the principal contractor regarding ongoing design work
  • Identify, collect and pass on pre-construction information
  • Prepare/update the health and safety file

Feu Plans

The Practice also specialise in the provision of feu plans which form part of the title deeds required for house sales. Our Land Surveyor Charles Hamilton has many years experience in this field having been involved in the preparation of some 15,000 surveys and plans over the years for the sale of housing associations properties under the tenants ‘Right to Buy’ Scheme. The provision of feu plans includes:

  • Carrying out site surveys and measurement
  • Preparation of title deed plans
  • Liasing with solicitors regarding title deed requirements
  • Issue of title deed plans and accompanying reports to solicitors
